    LICENSED ALCOHOL & DRUG ABUSE COUNSELORS (LADAC)

    SUMMARY OF PRIMARY DUTIES:

    This position reports to the Director of Treatment Services and is responsible for the coordination of treatment related activities and services as identified and outlined in the treatment plan of persons served. This position is also responsible for matching client needs with appropriate third party agencies. In addition, this position when necessary performs the duties of the Client Services Technicians or Residential Detoxification Specialists. This position must also be at a minimum registered with the Arkansas Substance Abuse Certification Board as a Counselor in Training.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Under the direction of the Director of Treatment Services, will conduct initial client assessments and perform initial intake interviews
    • Establish clinical treatment plans and/or case management plans when required
    • Coordinate and conduct weekly individual client counseling sessions
    • Create, Implement and document all treatment plans for persons served
    • Conduct daily/weekly process group and education groups with clients
    • Conduct family sessions
    • Identify and coordinate aftercare plans, including discharge plans and summaries
    • Perform all required documentation and client record management within agency and accrediting/licensing standards and protocol
    • Match client needs with appropriate agencies to help clients with non-substance abuse needs by developing productive relationships with other agencies
    • Provide referral development and follow up
    • Work with and coordinate client access to outside services
    • Acquire knowledge of 12 core functions, participate in required continuing education and participate in group/individual supervision
    • Adhere to confidentiality requirements as stated in 42CFR part 2
    • Responsible for maintaining a healthy & safe environment at all times through the performance of their duties.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 1-3 years of work experience in behavior health field
    • Bachelor’s degree in behavior health field desired or equivalent work experience
    • Ability to effectively work in team environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships
    • Ability to work with and supervise others
    • Basic computer literacy and use of computers i.e.; e-mail and word processing

    Required Credentials: CIT including CPR, First Aid and CPI *These trainings are provided by the organization*
